Reit im Winkl is a small village with a compact centre housing most of the accommodation. Some is located along the roads to the border with the Austrian Tyrol or out towards the lift connections to the Winklmoosalm.
The hotels chosen are from different categories - most of them at the three-star level - and some of them have online booking facilities through our travel fulfilment partner Booking.com. You can check availability at those particular hotels by clicking on the button under the hotel.
If you know when you are planning to go but haven't decided on accommodation, then use the search form underneath to get an idea of which hotels are available and to compare prices during the period you wish to travel.
(Please note that this selection will also include some guesthouses, pensions and self-catering apartments for those who are interested in that form of accommodation!)
Despite the fact that it is over a border, the best airport option for Reit im Winkl could be Salzburg Airport which, because of the popularity of ski and walking holidays in the nearby Austrian mountains, has a good range of scheduled and charter flights in the summer and winter seasons.
Distance to Salzburg Airport: 56km
Distance to Innsbruck Airport: 112km
Distance to Munich Airport: 146km
All three airports offer a similar route of train then bus on public transport, with Salzburg being by far the more convenient and picturesque if driving the more direct country roads in the summer months. Munich is probably the better option for flights from further afield or from less popular airports.
Reit im Winkl does not have a railway station. The most convenient train stations nearby for visitors from Germany are Übersee or Prien am Chiemsee, which are served by regular regional trains from Munich and Salzburg and then a bus connection to Reit im Winkl.
Those arriving over the nearby Austrian border have bus connections for the train stations at either Kufstein or St Johann in Tirol.
