Bautzen Hotels

Bautzen is a little-known gem in eastern Saxony with plenty of historic sights and is the unofficial cultural capital of the Sorb minority. Most of the hotels are located on or near the hilltop location of the former fortified town.

The hotels chosen are from the four-star and three-star categories and some of them have online booking facilities through our travel fulfilment partner Booking.com. You can check availability at those particular hotels by clicking on the button under the hotel.

Travel to Bautzen

Air Travel

The local Dresden airport is the closest option for travelling to Bautzen but the problem may be finding a suitable airport to fly from given the restricted range of flights.

Distance to Dresden Airport: 56km
Distance to Leipzig/Halle Airport: 178km
Distance to Berlin Schönefeld Airport: 182km
Distance to Vaclev Havel (Prague) Airport: 202km
Distance to Copernicus (Wroclaw) Airport: 209km
Distance to Berlin Tegel Airport: 222km

The other airports are all located a similar distance away and are probably easier choices, especially with the wide range of flights offered to Berlin and Prague.

Train Travel

The Bautzen train station is located to the south of the central town and it is a good 15-minute walk into the market square . It is on a regional line to Görlitz from Dresden and some of the services are operated by a private company Trilex (cheaper Trilex day tickets and the Sachsen Ticket are valid if travelling on this route).
